Ticks

Ticks are found worldwide and may infest dogs in very large numbers, especially during certain times of the year. When a tick feeds, it cuts an opening in the skin of the dog with its teeth and then pushes its feeding tube into the hole. While feeding, ticks inject saliva into the blood. Because the saliva may contain disease organisms including Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, several types of ehrlichiosis and other dangerous diseases, it’s important to rid your dog of ticks quickly.
